Your Body and Mind
Today’s post has nothing to do with Photography but at the same time everything to do about your creative mind. Last weekend at a wedding I had to go up and down this pretty big hill a few times to grab some gear. The 2nd time up the hill I was huffing and puffing pretty good and it made me realize I am not in the wedding shape I need to be. Then the other night I was trying to get caught up on some editing in the evening, normally I have this great creative rush of energy at night but lately haven’t felt it. After awhile of starting at Lightroom I actually feel asleep sitting up at my desk! Never happened to me before I just knocked right out. My energy levels lately have been down and most of the reason is just my lack of exercise. I used to love to run but haven’t in about a year and have been using the excuse that I am too busy. The thing is when you are too busy that’s when you need the extra energy that working out gives you. So finally I have stopped making excuses and dusted off the running shoes, but I want you all to join me!
Keeping our body in shape not only is a good practice to be in to keep your body fit but really needed to keep your mind fresh and creative. Sometimes when I am on a run I get my most creative ideas, I think that exercising really does help you maintain a clear mind and can spark creativity. Also all of you out there that run your own photography business I know how challenging things can be being a small business owner. With all of the joys of running your own business can also come a lot of work and stress. Keeping in shape is so important in clearing your mind from all of the challenges and getting you to focus on the good things going on. Once you start a routine you start to feel energized, creative and just ready to tackle the world. So lets all step away from the computer for a bit and get out and run.
I know one of the hardest things to do is keep it up if you aren’t accountable to anyone so I thought we would start a little Summer Challenge! If you are not a runner no problem you can still walk, crawl, whatever you need to do, just get out there and start moving!
