Wedding Details Photography Contest

Its time again for another Photography contest and this month will be one of my favorite things to photograph (I know I say that often I just love to shoot about anything). Wedding details can always be such a artistic thing to photograph. From the dress to the shoes, the rings and wedding cake you can get so creative with many of the details at a wedding. So lets see your best detail shot!

There will be two different winners with this contest. Just like last month we will let everyone vote on their favorite and the fan favorite will win a $100 giftcard from Black River Imaging. Also I will pick another grand prize winner for a ChromaLuxe 16×20 aluminum photo panel with a mounting display from ChromaLuxe and a few runner ups that will get iTunes cards.

The contest will end next week on January 30th, 2011 and then we will open it up for voting for a week. To enter just upload your image below where it says “Add Photo” (max size 600×400). Make sure to enter your website address or name in the Caption so we know who you are! Also only one entry per person. NOTE: Once you click submit the image does need to be approved and may take a few hours, just click the submit button once we will get your entry online soon.

Also we posted a good article awhile back about what PPA looks for when they do print competitions. For any of you who missed it check out that article here: PPA Print Competition Guidelines. These give you a good understanding about what people look for when judging images.

  1. HI. I entered an image for the wedding details contest that was vertical. Not sure it is all there. It is sized 600 px height x 400 px width. Let me know if I need to re submit.

    Thanks.

  2. I’m really pleased to have found this competition. The WPJA frowns upon detail images, but Mark is right that they can be some of the most artistic photos in a portfolio. They may not be “moments” – but they’re symbolic. Detail shots give a blend of anonymity & emotion that makes the image easy to relate to. You can just imagine slipping into those shoes or that ring.. And after all, isn’t that what we want our clients to feel?
