Upgrading to Mountain Lion for Photographers

I know this site is all about photography but as a photographer in this digital age I have relied on Apple computers for my creative work since the college days of a beige G3. While I might be dating myself a bit I learned Photoshop 3 (yes just 3 not CS3) on a mac and have always loved the ease of use that the Mac OS provides. With the update to Mountain Lion coming tomorrow wanted to chat a little bit about their requirements for Mountain Lion and also update this post once I have installed it on my non critical computer to see if there are any issues with Photoshop, Lightroom or other crucial applications that we all use.

The Mountain Lion doesn’t have a ton of huge new features but there are some very nice features that along with the super cheap price tag of $19.99 make it a definite upgrade for me. I am looking forward to the new notification center along with some of the other improvements but whenever upgrading always run a risk of critical software having issues. I’ll first upgrade my old laptop to make sure that everything works well and then still wait a little while before upgrading my desktop. If I encounter any issues i’ll update this post or add a new article with updates so check back later (or look on our Facebook or Twitter page for updates)as I have more info.
