I am getting ready to finalize our summer photography workshop schedule and wanted to get some feedback from everyone. I currently offer 2 different workshops, one for wedding photography and one 1/2 day marketing workshop. The wedding workshop covers many things from getting started, gear used, shooting techniques with a shoot, post production and a little marketing. The marketing workshop is a 4 hour review of many different ways to market yourself in todays fast paced world. I would love some feedback on what you all would look for in a workshop to help us continue to refine what we offer.

I have been holding small workshops for 3 years now and am always amazed how inspired I get from meeting new photographers, learning about their photo journey so far and helping them to take their photography to the next level. The last few months I had to put our workshops on hold for a bit due to just a crazy schedule. But I finally have found a few holes in my schedule so am getting ready to announce 2 new slots for our most popular workshop, Weddings from A to Z. For wedding photographers new to the business or seasoned wedding photographers looking for new inspiration, a full-day workshop designed to fill you with passion for creating amazing works of art for your clients. We will cover a huge range of topics from the basics of digital cameras, shooting, lighting, Photoshop CS3, and post-production workflow.

We will focus on the importance of finding your style, expanding your creativity and unleashing the artist in you. The workshop will cover some basics in using natural light in an artistic way and start to get a little more complicated with bringing in external lighting to your weddings. We will show you how to turn the ordinary wedding scene into an amazing art piece. From using creative compositions to creative lighting and how you work with the bride and groom, we’ll show you how we turned our passion for the art of photography into a successful wedding studio. The workshop also includes a portfolio review and some artistic actions we use to help streamline our post production.

On Location Lighting
Brand new for 2010 we are doing a 1/2 day workshop on Location lighting. This will be a 1/2 day workshop in the evening from 7:00-11:00 on location in San Jose

and for anyone who needs one-on-one training we are staring up a new idea
“One-on-one coffee talk” where you can get 2 hours of dedicated training time to cover any topics you would like. This can be live in the bay area or for everyone out of the area a conference call.
