Pixelmator 2.0 Now Has Content Aware Fill

If you haven’t heard of Pixelmator yet you really should check them out. They are a fairly new competitor to Adobe Photoshop that has been around for the last few years. They started with a really beautifully designed image editing program that was easy to use but still powerful. The company won the Apple design awards for outstanding design and innovation this year and has really built a slick product for an incredible price. In this tough economy it’s hard to drop all of the money you need to when getting a photo business started. With camera bodies, lenses, marketing costs and then computers and software everything adds up. Adobe Creative suite with Photoshop has always been the industry standard and the most powerful photo editing application out there. There are cheaper alternatives out there but most of them lack the creative tools needed for image editing.

Enter in Pixelmator’s latest update 2.0 and we have some really great tools to edit with that are quick and easy to use and really ridiculously priced. They recently launched this new update and have the pricing set to a promo price of only $29.99! The normal price is still a great value at $59.99 but this really is a steal if you are looking for a great image editing application. I am going to be creating some articles exploring the features coming soon so if you are interested in this application more just check back later.

The coolest part with this new update is adding one of the features that really just amazed people when Photoshop CS 5 came out which is content aware fill. It’s pretty awesome you can just draw around a part of the image and like magic… poof the image you drew around is gone and blended into the rest of the image. It’s pretty powerful for really quick editing when you need to remove a pole from a photo or power lines in the sky.

The 2.0 version of Pixelmator also includes full Lion support which gives you some great features like Full Screen, Auto Save, and Versions. You can get the application now in the Mac store for the intro price of $29.99 by clicking the link below.
