Negative Space Contest Winner
First of all thanks to everyone who entered our last contest with the theme Negative Space. As always there was a unique mix of entries and some really great images in there. It was a close call for the winner and I want to also highlight some of the runners up who all deserve kudos.
Also as a side note we always had a few different winners in the past, one main winner that is voted on by myself and my wife and going through a judging process similar to a PPA style print competition. The other winners I like to open it up for all of you to vote. I had always envisioned all of my awesome readers voting on what was your favorites and giving you a voice to help pick. I even have given suggestions on what to look for when judging a photo in some of our past posts. Unfortunately with the way that the web can work it seems like the highest voted images usually are a popularity contest of who has the most friends to come here and vote, many of which don’t have the best photographic eye. I want this site to always be about the art of photography and all of us improving on our photographic art. So for future contests we are going to remove the viewing voting and just go through our own voting process.
Ok, so back to the fun now. First the top award who will receive a $100 black river gift card is … www.justinegphotography.com. A really great shot of a spider, the lighting is awesome and the black space around the image really draws your eye into the spider. Also the stark contrast from the background, web and the spider make it just pop right off the page. Great image!
And all of the awesome runner up’s who deserve recognition. You will all get a copy of our Hipstamatic Like Lightroom Presets along with the photo that received the most fan votes.
Congrats again to everyone and look out for more fun contests coming soon!
