Happy New Years
As 2009 is now officially over I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and a wonderful 2010. I hope your year is filled with joy and happiness and wish creativity is endless. I know that 2009 was a challenging year for many, myself included. Every time you turned on the news there were bad reports about the economy, wars, it seemed to be a year of hard news. I know a lot of people that lost jobs, lost homes and had to really cut back. My studios business thankfully remained pretty similar in sales to 2008, but I did find myself working harder and more hours for that same amount of sales.
As I look back at 2009 although there were challenges, those are now in the past. We have a blank canvas in front of us this year and anything is possible. For those of you who had a difficult year with your photography business remember to never give up. Put your heart into your work and keep trying to innovate and create. Give thanks for the good that happened in 2009, release all the bad and focus on new opportunities this year!
I started this website in 2009 as a way to get a community together of creative photographers where we can learn from each other, inspire each other and continue to all raise the bar in the photography industry. In 2010 I will be continuing to work hard on improving this site, but in the end its really a site for YOU. I want this to be a place you can call home, feel comfortable posting and answering questions. If there is ever anything you need help on, post a comment or fill out a contact form. Also if you have something you would like to share with everyone just click on the “guest blogger” page under the About menu above.
I believe this year will be an amazing year, things are changing in the industry and if we can think creatively there are some really awesome opportunities out there!
For me personally, I have some goals and things I am going to change up with my business. I’ll share them next week with you all. In the meantime have a great first day of 2010 and remember the best is yet to come!
I would also love to know what your goals/dreams/visions are for 2010, leave a comment below.
