  1. Thanks for the presets. As a wedding photographer, I use Lightroom extensively and this could help speed up the editing process rather than export certain images into Photoshop and then back into Lightroom.

Great! Glad to hear it, presets can be such a huge time savings!

Thanks for sharing the presets. In my wedding biz and artistic portraits, B/W is a popular option and I’m always looking for a different look in B/W.

    Hi All,

I love black and white pics. As described above, they can look perfect.

However, I am always having difficulty converting the colour images via presets. The converted images always seem overexposed and this is especially the case when outdoors on a sunny day. I am often required to adjust the exposure, recovery and fill light but then I feel that I am loosing the quality in performing drastic adjustments.

Has anybody any solutions? Many thanks in advance

    Paul

  2. [...] Sometimes I think there is nothing more beautiful thank a black and white print. The right shot in black and white with the right tones and contrast can just be breathtaking. But just as a black and white conversion can be beautiful, the opposite can also apply. Sometimes we pick the wrong image to convert and without the right amount of contrast and adjustments in Lightroom it can make it look muddy and worse than the original. The work that we do in Lightroom (or whatever image editor you use) is really a huge part of the art process and so important to creating your vision for that shot. Here is a great video tutorial on how to convert an image to Black and White and also add tonal overlays, edge effects, and film grain textures.
